Giorgios est un balayeur des rues qui vit dans le souvenir du tournage du film d'Elias Kazan, America, America, tourné en partie en Grèce en 1963 et auquel il a participé en tant que figurant. Quand le film est re-programmé dans un cinéma de quartier, il invite ses parents et ses amis à la projection et devient ainsi la star d'un soir. L'Amérique si loin, si proche… mais toujours le théâtre de nos rêves impossibles !
Giorgios is a street cleaner who lives with the memory of taking part as an extra in Elia Kazan's film America, America which was partly shot in Greece in 1963. When he spots a re-release of the film in a local cinema, he invites relatives and friends to the screening and becames king for a night. America so near and yet so far… but always the land of impossible dreams!

Né à Volos, il fait des études de cinéma à Athènes à l'Ecole Eugenia Hadjikou puis en Angleterre, dans le Yorkshire (ARTTS International). America (1999) est son troisième court métrage après Talk me Like the Rain (1993) et Une voix, une ville (1996).
